DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE WORKPLACE PROGRAM

On February 10, 2016, representatives of the association (NJGMCA or NJ G+M) and IUPAT District Council 711 (the Union) signed an agreement, the NEW JERSEY GLASS AND METAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION AND IUPAT DC 711 JOINT DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE WORKPLACE PROGRAM. This Program covers all NJGMCA member employers, Signatory Employers, and all existing and prospective members of the Union performing work covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement currently in force, as provided for in Article 18.8. The program became effective May 1, 2016. Although many of the elements of the program have existed previously, newly created by the Program is mandatory random Lottery Selection Drug Testing.

OSHA ALLIANCE

The association has an alliance agreement with the US Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and IUPAT DC 711. The three parties to the agreement meet quarterly to discuss safety initiatives and joint programs.  The current agreement expired September 30, 2016.  To date the association has tried unsuccessfully to renew the alliance agreement with OSHA and it's local representatives.
